Leesburg Police Investigate Series of Vehicle Thefts and Tampering

In the early hours of Tuesday, February 6, 2024, the streets of Northeast Leesburg were disturbed by a series of thefts and vehicle tampering incidents, prompting an immediate investigation by the Leesburg Police Department. This wave of criminal activity spanned several neighborhoods, impacting residents across 15 locations, including:

  • Bugle Court, NE
  • Burt Court, NE
  • Cambria Terrace, NE
  • Chickasaw Place, NE
  • Featherstone Lane, NE
  • Haversack Court, NE
  • Hunton Place, NE
  • Keokuk Terrace, NE
  • Shanks Evans Road, NE
  • Stonefield Square, NE
  • Tennessee Drive, NE
  • Woodbridge Court, NE

A total of 26 vehicles fell victim to these incidents, with 14 reported thefts of personal items. Among the stolen valuables were a handgun, cash, wallets, purses, credit cards, and gift cards. Notably, each of the vehicles entered had been left unlocked, highlighting a concerning oversight in personal security measures among residents.

The Leesburg Police Department, actively pursuing leads and examining video surveillance footage, urges the community to adopt more vigilant practices to safeguard their property.
