Leesburg, VA (July 12, 2024) – The 16th Annual Dog Swim at the AV Symington Aquatic Center is scheduled for Saturday, September 7. Leesburg residents can register starting Tuesday, July 16, while non-residents can sign up beginning Tuesday, July 23.
The event will feature two sessions: the first from 9 to 10:30 a.m., and the second from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This beloved local tradition provides dogs a safe and enclosed area to swim off-leash with other pups. All participating dogs must be at least six months old, legally licensed, vaccinated, and wearing a visible dog license.
Safety measures include gated exits and an on-site veterinarian. Owners should bring a dish for their dogs’ water needs.
Space is limited and pre-registration is mandatory, with a maximum of two dogs per person. The cost is $5.00 per person, and walk-up registration will not be available. Participants must be at least 12 years old, with dog handlers being 16 years or older.
