Vintage Rides Take Over Leesburg: Classic Car Show Returns October 5

Leesburg, VA (September 30, 2024) – Downtown Leesburg is about to be filled with the sights and sounds of vintage cars as the 36th annual Leesburg Car Show rolls into town on Saturday, October 5, from 12 to 4 p.m. This year’s event is organized by the Academies of Loudoun, and it’s shaping up to be a celebration of automotive history, with a special focus on “classic” cars—vehicles that are 25 years or older.

Though all high-quality cars are welcome to participate, only classic cars will be in the running for the specialty awards. Over 30 awards will be handed out, including the crowd-favorite “Top 10 Spectator’s Choice,” with the award ceremony set for 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of King and Market streets.

If you’re thinking about entering your vehicle, pre-registration is $30, or you can register the day of for $35. Just be sure to arrive early—participants need to stage their vehicles at Tuscarora High School between 9:30 and 11 a.m. Downtown streets will close at 9:30 a.m. to allow for staging, and late entries won’t be permitted.

Streets affected by the closures include:

King Street (from North to Loudoun streets)
Market Street (from Church to Wirt streets)
Cornwall Street (from King to Wirt streets)
Only residents living between Church and King streets on Cornwall will have street access during the closure, which will last until 5 p.m. when downtown reopens to regular traffic.

If the weather takes a turn, the event will be rescheduled for Saturday, October 19. In the case of a cancellation, participants can expect a refund within 30 business days. All proceeds from the show will go to support the students and staff at the Academies of Loudoun.
