Masked Suspects Rob Sheetz on Edwards Ferry Road

A quiet stretch of Edwards Ferry Road turned chaotic early this morning when masked suspects held up the Sheetz convenience store in Leesburg.

According to Leesburg Police, the robbery happened just before 4 a.m. at the Sheetz located at 915 Edwards Ferry Road NW. Two suspects walked into the store wearing all-black clothing and masks. One of them pulled out a gun and demanded cash from the employees. A third suspect—also masked—waited outside, acting as a lookout or getaway support.

Police say the suspects left with an unknown amount of money. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

This isn’t the first time local residents have raised concerns about late-night safety at gas stations and convenience stores around town. With more development and 24-hour businesses opening near historic neighborhoods, some neighbors are pushing for more patrols in areas that used to feel untouched by these kinds of crimes.
