Over the weekend, downtown Leesburg welcomed something fresh and exciting: The King Street Experience opened its doors on June 21 at 107 N King Street.
This isn’t your typical shop. Founder Julia Heagy calls it a “true creative hub.” The space mixes artisan goods, upcycled furniture, Fusion Mineral Paint, workshops, and subleased offices—all aimed at connecting makers and the community. In her words: “I saw a need … for a place that wasn’t just a shop, but a true creative hub”—a spot to both buy unique, locally made treasures and learn how to create them yourself.
Town officials, including Mayor Kelly Burk and the Town Council, gathered with Heagy for the ribbon-cutting ceremony youtube.com+11chooseleesburg.com+11visitloudoun.org+11. The day ushered in demos of paint, resin, succulents and more activities that encouraged hands-on participation facebook.com.
This new hub reflects the best of Leesburg’s downtown spirit—leaning into creativity while respecting our small‑town charm. It’s built for anyone seeking inspiration: artisans, entrepreneurs, families—or just someone curious to learn something new.
What makes The King Street Experience special:
-
Local artisan goods & upcycled furniture: Hand‑made treasures right from our backyard.
-
Fusion Mineral Paint products & demos: Learn how to refresh your own projects.
-
Creative workshops: Drop in for paint, resin, succulents, t‑shirt and hat decorating—and more.
-
Subleased offices: A collaborative workspace for makers and small‑business owners.
Why it matters to Leesburg:
This hub isn’t just a new storefront. It fills a need for spaces where creativity thrives, businesses grow, and our community gathers under one roof. As Julia says, it’s “more than just a retail store … an immersive destination.”
