Leesburg Library’s Fall Scavenger Hunt Brings a Bit of Fun to the Stacks

If you’re looking for a fun way to welcome fall, the Thomas Balch Library in downtown Leesburg is offering a charming little challenge: a pumpkin scavenger hunt that’s on now through November 3.

Here’s how it works: Stop by the reference desk to grab a BINGO-style card, then search the library for 10 small pumpkins hidden throughout the building. Find them all, and you’ll get to pick a prize—and your name goes up on the library’s “Pumpkin Hunting Wall of Fame.”

It’s a low-key, family-friendly activity that anyone can join. No need to sign up, just come in during regular library hours:

  • Monday & Friday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Tuesday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Wednesday: 2 to 8 p.m.

  • Saturday: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Sunday: 1 to 5 p.m.

The hunt is open to all ages—kids, teens, adults, and anyone who enjoys a quiet, cozy adventure inside one of Leesburg’s most beloved historic buildings.

The Thomas Balch Library isn’t just a place for archives and research—it’s also one of those community anchors that brings people together, especially this time of year. And this scavenger hunt is a great excuse to stop by, especially if you haven’t been in a while.
