Attempted Armed Robbery at Dry Mill 7-Eleven

The 7-Eleven on Dry Mill Road in Leesburg became the scene of a crime early this morning when a man walked in, claimed he had a weapon, made demands—and then walked out empty-handed.

It happened around 12:37 a.m., according to Leesburg Police. The man didn’t get away with anything, but the threat alone has left neighbors rattled.

Police describe the suspect as a White man, about 5’6″, wearing a red long-sleeved shirt, brown pants, and a black face covering.

The store sits on a stretch of Dry Mill Road not far from Heritage High School and the Leesburg Bypass—normally a quiet area, especially in the overnight hours. While no injuries were reported, the police are urging anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area around that time to call 703-771-4500.

In a town like Leesburg, where growth has brought both opportunity and new challenges, incidents like this are a reminder that even familiar places aren’t immune to crime.
