Leesburg Police Seek Witnesses in Battlefield Pkwy. Hit-and-Run

Late Sunday night, just before midnight on February 8, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on southbound Battlefield Parkway SE near the Walgreens by Sycolin Road—and the driver didn’t stop.

According to the Leesburg Police Department, the man had pulled over because smoke was coming from his vehicle. While outside, he was hit by a car that kept driving southbound. A second vehicle may have been nearby and could’ve seen what happened.

Police are reviewing surveillance footage and plan to release video related to the crash on Monday.

They’re asking anyone who saw the crash or has information to come forward. If you were in the area that night—especially if you were headed south on Battlefield Parkway—you might have seen something that could help.

If you have info, call Leesburg Police at 703-771-4500, or the Criminal Investigations Section at 703-771-6417.
