LEESBURG, Va. — Local officials, business leaders, and community members gathered Tuesday for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the grand opening of Phoenix Theatres Entertainment at Village at Leesburg.
The theater, located at 1600 Village Market Boulevard SE, takes over the former CMX Village 14 Cinemas space and marks a new chapter for one of Leesburg’s most prominent entertainment destinations.
Spanning more than 63,000 square feet, the renovated theater features 14 screens, including premium PTX auditoriums equipped with laser projection, immersive sound systems, oversized screens, and luxury recliner seating. Moviegoers can also experience films in a D-BOX auditorium, where motion-enabled seats move in sync with the action on screen.
For residents of Leesburg and eastern Loudoun County, the reopening restores a major entertainment venue at a time when many communities continue to see changes in how people gather and spend their leisure time.
“We are so excited to welcome Phoenix Theatres,” said Susan Bourgeois, executive director of leasing and brokerage at Rappaport, the company that owns, manages, and leases Village at Leesburg. “Phoenix will provide the community with a first-class, state-of-the-art movie experience with a ‘guest first’ approach.”
Beyond first-run movies, Phoenix Theatres is introducing several programs designed to attract families and frequent moviegoers, including $5 Bargain Tuesdays, a free summer movie series, reserved seating, online ticket purchasing, a customer loyalty program, and its Annual Popcorn Bucket program.
The theater is also expanding its food and beverage offerings. Guests can order artisan flatbreads, premium burgers, sandwiches, loaded fries, and a selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. Food and drinks can be delivered directly to seats during the movie.
The opening adds another entertainment option to Village at Leesburg, a mixed-use development that continues to serve as a retail, dining, and gathering destination for Loudoun County residents.
Phoenix Theatres is now open to the public.
