LEESBURG, Va. — Leesburg Police have charged two juveniles in connection with an armed robbery that took place last month at the Bank of America ATM on East Market Street.
According to police, the robbery happened between 10:30 and 11 p.m. on June 17 at the Bank of America branch located at 505 E. Market Street. The victim reported the incident to the Leesburg Police Department on June 25.
Investigators say the victim was using the ATM when two individuals approached and demanded money. During the robbery, one of the suspects displayed a firearm. The victim handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspects fled the scene. No one was injured.
After what police described as an extensive investigation, detectives identified two juvenile suspects.
One juvenile has been charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. The second juvenile faces charges of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and possession of a firearm. Police said additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
Because both suspects are juveniles, the Leesburg Police Department is not releasing their identities.
