LEESBURG, Va. — Downtown Leesburg has welcomed a new addition for local families with the opening of Mon Chouchou, a children’s boutique specializing in premium clothing, accessories, and gifts for babies, children, and tweens.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held July 18 to celebrate the boutique’s grand opening at 216 S. King Street, Suite 200, above Goosecup Coffee.
Owner Beth Bullard said the concept for Mon Chouchou has been years in the making. She and her husband wanted to bring a children’s boutique to Leesburg that focuses on “slow fashion”—offering well-made, thoughtfully sourced clothing designed to last longer than a single season.
The couple drew inspiration from their time living in coastal California as well as the European approach to shopping, where visiting a boutique is meant to be an enjoyable experience rather than simply checking items off a list.
“As long-time residents of Leesburg with children in the Leesburg schools, contributing to the town as a business owner is a dream come true,” Bullard said. “What makes us feel most excited is getting to know our regular customers that come in several times a month whether it’s just to see what’s new or to stock-up for the season. Many customers come from all over the DMV just to shop our store and folks from out of town visiting continue to order on-line.”
The boutique is currently featuring back-to-school essentials, including first-day outfits and backpacks. Later this year, Mon Chouchou plans to stock coordinated outfits for family photos, special occasion clothing, and a selection of gifts and accessories for children from newborn through the tween years.
The opening adds another locally owned business to downtown Leesburg’s retail district, continuing the area’s mix of independent shops that draw both residents and visitors to the historic downtown.
