Leesburg Police Make Second Arrest in August 21 Shooting Investigation

LEESBURG, Va. — Leesburg police have charged a second person in connection with an August shooting on Fort Evans Road that left a man wounded.

Isaac A. Hernandez, 19, of Aldie, has been charged as part of the investigation into the Aug. 21 shooting in the 0 block of Fort Evans Road NE, according to the Leesburg Police Department.

Hernandez faces charges of aggravated malicious wounding, attempted malicious wounding, conspiracy to commit a felony and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is also charged with shooting in a public place causing injury and two counts of shooting in a public place without causing injury.

He is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

The arrest is the second announced in the case. Police previously arrested a juvenile in connection with the shooting.

The incident happened at about 10 p.m. Aug. 21, when officers were called to the 0 block of Fort Evans Road NE for a reported shooting. When officers arrived, they found an adult man who had been shot in the leg.

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment and has since been released.

The shooting occurred along the busy Fort Evans Road corridor in northeast Leesburg, an area lined with shopping centers, businesses and residential communities.
