Annual Airshow Returns to Leesburg Executive Airport

Leesburg AirshowLeesburg, VA (September 12, 2023) –

The annual Leesburg Airshow is set to take flight at the Leesburg Executive Airport (1001 Sycolin Road SE) on Saturday, September 30, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will kick off with a showcase of planes from nearby flight academies soaring into the sky at noon. By 1 p.m., spectators can anticipate thrilling aerobatic acts from renowned groups like the Flying Circus, Scott Francis Airshows, RJ Gritter, Chef Pitts, and Warbird Thunder Airshows.

Beyond the aerial feats, attendees can wander through the static display section on the airport’s tarmac, where an array of both contemporary and vintage aircraft will be exhibited. Highlights include an Air Yukon DC-3, a meticulously restored UH-1 (Huey helicopter) by Liberty Warbirds, and the Douglas C-47B Skytrain dubbed ‘Luck of the Irish’. A range of aviation-centric stalls, educational booths, children’s inflatable slides, and diverse food and drink stalls, including craft beer options, will cater to diverse interests.

Airshow entry will commence at 11 a.m., and there’s no admission fee. Parking provisions are arranged at Heritage High School (520 Evergreen Mills Road) and Segra Field (42095 Loudoun United Drive), with free shuttle services operating from 10:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Direct parking or drop-offs at the airport is restricted. Both parking venues are equipped to accommodate wheelchair users.

This year’s spectacle is brought to life by Leesburg’s Toth Financial, an enduring advocate for the Town’s airport, in collaboration with Kuhn Jet Center and The Malinowski Family. Special acknowledgments go out to David Schultz Airshows LLC and our media partner, Loudoun Now.
