Deputies responded to a report of a verbal altercation. Once on the scene, deputies tried to de-escalate the situation. The subject became more hostile and drove through a gate at the location. Deputies were able to locate the subject and take him into custody. Derek Lynn McDaniel, 50, of Alexandria, was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery – Intimidation and Destruction of Property. He was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where he was held without bond.
