Baltimore Man Charged with Felony Hit and Run in Leesburg

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) has charged a Baltimore man with felony hit and run after he struck a pedestrian and left the scene.

On August 17, at approximately 1:08 p.m., deputies responded to the 17700 block of Canby Road in Leesburg, for a report of a pedestrian struck.  The victim stated she was jogging on the side of the road when struck by the side mirror of a van.  The driver reportedly stopped, said he was sorry, and left the scene.  The vehicle was located nearby, and the driver was placed under arrest.

Jaden Hughes, 21, of Baltimore, was arrested and charged with Driving Without a License, Hit and Run, and Use of a Phone While Operating a Vehicle.  Hughes was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where he was released on a $5,000 bond.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and has since been released.  The LCSO thanks the Virginia State Police for its assistance in locating the driver.
