Charges Filed Against Leesburg Man for Assault and Attempted Abduction

Leesburg, VA – A distressing occurrence in Leesburg led to multiple charges against a local man, identified as Allen K. Shreve III. The incident unfolded on the evening of April 10, 2024, when Leesburg Police were called to the 800 block of Anne Street SW.

According to the police report, Shreve allegedly engaged in aggressive behavior towards a vehicle occupied by an adult and two juveniles. Witnesses say he followed the victim’s vehicle closely and attempted to hit it. The situation escalated when Shreve reportedly blocked their path, forcing the driver to maneuver across several lawns to evade him. In the chaos, a fire hydrant was also struck and damaged.

Responding officers arrested Shreve at the scene. He now faces three counts of attempted abduction, three counts of simple assault, and charges related to driving while intoxicated (DWI), destruction of property, and other traffic-related offenses. This marks Shreve’s second DWI offense within a decade.

He was taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center and is being held without bond. Fortunately, no injuries were reported despite the perilous situation.
