Clemens Named to Leadership Post by Clerks’ Association

In a recent announcement, the Virginia Court Clerks Association (VCCA) has named Gary M. Clemens, the Clerk of Circuit Court for Loudoun County, as the Co-Chair of the Public Relations Committee. This committee is dedicated to advancing community education initiatives and establishing strong ties with lawmakers to enhance awareness of the crucial role played by Clerks of Circuit Court in both Virginia and local governance. Gary Clemens has been serving as the co-chair of this committee for an impressive 15 years.

Tereas Dobbins, the President of VCCA, who was recently elected by the membership during the annual convention, expressed her honor in appointing Gary Clemens to these leadership roles within the association. Teresa Dobbins herself holds the position of Clerk of Circuit Court for Powhatan County. She praised Gary’s dedication and integrity in promoting equitable access to justice and commended his contributions to the association and the state of Virginia.

Throughout his 24 years as the Clerk of the Circuit Court in Loudoun County, Gary has been a mentor and source of support for newly appointed clerks of circuit court across Virginia. Teresa Dobbins emphasized that Gary’s leadership and his willingness to share his vast experience have been a source of inspiration for those fortunate enough to collaborate with him.

In addition to his new Co-Chair position, Gary Clemens has been actively involved in the VCCA, having served on the Executive Board, Legislative Committee, Education Committee, and even as President of the association in the past. Notably, he played a pivotal role in the establishment of a statewide career development program for circuit court deputy clerks in Virginia. This program provides advanced training opportunities for deputy clerks to enhance their ability to deliver exceptional customer service, analyze clerk’s office operations, and obtain professional certification.
