Leesburg, VA – A series of criminal incidents in Leesburg led to the arrest of 42-year-old Allen Goins, a man of no fixed address, on multiple felony charges. The Leesburg Police Department has charged Goins with one count of grand larceny of an automobile, two counts of burglary, and one count of grand larceny, stemming from events on the morning of January 11, 2024.
The saga began when a homeowner in the 100 block of Lawson Road SE reported a stolen vehicle, left running and unsecured. Shortly after, a Leesburg police officer spotted the vehicle near Edwards Ferry Road NE. Goins, the driver, did not comply when the officer attempted a traffic stop, leading to a brief northbound pursuit on Route 15. Prioritizing public safety, the officer discontinued the chase, alerting nearby agencies.
Within an hour, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) located and stopped the vehicle in Purcellville, resulting in Goins’ arrest. Subsequent reports from two homeowners on Beauregard Drive SE revealed burglaries at their residences, with Goins quickly identified as the suspect in these break-ins as well as the car theft.
Goins is currently held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, denied bond on both the Leesburg charges and additional LCSO charges from the traffic stop. He is also a person of interest in other recent Leesburg criminal incidents.
