LEESBURG, Va. — A new children’s boutique has opened its doors in the heart of downtown Leesburg, bringing a carefully curated selection of toys, clothing, books, and gifts to local families.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held June 4 to celebrate the grand opening of Hare and Hen, located at 26 W. Market Street in historic downtown Leesburg.
Owned by Kaitlyn Burke Tureaud, the boutique was created with a simple goal: to offer families a welcoming place to find meaningful, high-quality items that celebrate childhood and create lasting memories.
The shop specializes in heirloom-quality toys, children’s apparel, books, nursery décor, gifts, and imaginative play essentials for babies and young children. Rather than focusing on mass-produced items, Hare and Hen aims to provide products designed to be cherished, passed down, and enjoyed for years.
The addition of Hare and Hen adds another locally owned business to downtown Leesburg, an area known for its independent shops, historic character, and strong community support for small businesses. The boutique’s arrival reflects the continued appeal of downtown as a destination for both residents and visitors seeking unique shopping experiences.
“Opening Hare and Hen in Leesburg is the culmination of many years of dreaming. We chose Leesburg because of its strong sense of community, vibrant small business culture, and the families who make this town such a special place to raise children,” she said. “We’re honored to become part of historic downtown Leesburg and excited to create a space where families can gather, explore, and experience a little bit more of the magic of childhood.”
For many Loudoun families, the boutique offers a new option for children’s gifts, nursery items, and special keepsakes in a setting that reflects the character of downtown Leesburg.
Hare and Hen is open for in-person shopping at its West Market Street location and also offers online shopping through its website. Customers can visit the boutique in person or online at www.hareandhen.com.
