Hometown Hero Banner Program Returns to Freedom Park

Hometown Hero BannerLeesburg, VA (January 26, 2024) – The Town of Leesburg and Loudoun County Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) is once again partnering on a Hometown Hero banner program to honor local veterans for their military service.

Banners can be purchased between February 1 to April 15 from the Military Tribute Banners website, to honor and recognize Leesburg and Loudoun County residents who have served, or are serving, in the United States Armed Services.

Each 24”x48” patriotic banner will display the name and likeness of a current or former member of the military who is currently serving, honorably discharged, retired, or deceased. The sponsorship rate is $175 per banner.

Payments can be made online or by check payable to VFW Post 1177, Attention Commander, and mailed to 401 Old Waterford Road, NW, Leesburg, VA 20176.

The banners will be displayed at Freedom Park, 101 Colonel Grenata Cir, in Leesburg, in time for Memorial Day and remain up through Veterans Day. Freedom Park is home to the Town’s Freedom Memorial that is dedicated to those who lost their lives during 9/11 and commemorates other historic dates in our Country’s fight for freedom.
