UPDATE – The investigation into Saturday’s reckless driving incidents in Leesburg and Loudoun County continues.
At approximately 4:00 PM Saturday afternoon a Leesburg Police officer attempted to stop a 2016 white Chevrolet Camaro bearing Texas license plate RPP2024 for speeding. The driver took off at a high rate of speed westbound on East Market Street and officers ultimately opted not to pursue the vehicle in consideration of public safety. The vehicle was located shortly thereafter in the area of Heritage High School (520 Evergreen Mills Road SE). The vehicle again fled at a high rate of speed and law enforcement again ultimately opted not to pursue the vehicle in consideration of public safety.
Leesburg Police officers located the Chevrolet Camaro parked unoccupied in a parking lot in the 700 block of Fieldstone Drive NE around 1:00 AM Sunday morning. The vehicle was seized to be processed for evidence.
Probable cause was established relating to Pablo Enrique Orellana-Flores. The officer then presented the probable cause to a Magistrate who issued the charges against the Orellana-Flores. It is important to remember that probable cause does not mean that an individual is guilty, and that all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Midday Sunday, Pablo Orellana-Flores was taken into custody by the Fredericksburg Police Department on warrants obtained by the Leesburg Police Department and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office related to this investigation.
Leesburg Police officers continued their investigation, and based upon additional information, determined that Pablo Orellana-Flores was no longer a suspect in this investigation. Leesburg Police Department worked diligently in conjunction with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and the Office of the Loudoun County Commonwealth’s Attorney to have all related charges dismissed against Orellana-Flores.
