Juvenile Arrested in Fort Evans Road Shooting in Leesburg

LEESBURG, Va. — Leesburg police have arrested a juvenile in connection with an Aug. 21 shooting on Fort Evans Road that left a man wounded.

The Leesburg Police Department announced the arrest Friday, Aug. 28, following a search conducted that morning with assistance from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Police served a search warrant in the 0 block of Fort Evans Road SE as part of the investigation. A juvenile was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated malicious wounding.

The charges stem from a shooting reported about 10 p.m. Aug. 21 in the 0 block of Fort Evans Road NE.

Officers responding to the scene found an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to an area hospital and has since been released, according to police.

Authorities have not released the juvenile’s name or other identifying information because of the suspect’s age.

The arrest comes one week after the shooting, but the investigation is not over. Police say the case remains active and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
