Leesburg, VA (August 3, 2024) – The Leesburg Police Department is currently investigating a tragic collision that took place last night between a passenger vehicle and a private company ambulance, leading to one fatality and six injuries.
At approximately 9:04 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of E. Market Street and the Leesburg Bypass. The crash involved a 2017 Honda Accord and an ambulance operated by a private company. A juvenile passenger in the Honda Accord was pronounced dead at the hospital. The juvenile driver and two additional passengers, one juvenile and one adult, were transported to a nearby hospital, where they are reported to be in stable condition.
The ambulance was transporting two company employees and one adult patient. All three were taken to an area hospital, with two remaining in stable condition.
