Leesburg, VA — For many in our community, churches are places of stability — the kind of places that don’t change much, even as everything else around them does. That’s part of why news like this hits differently.
Leesburg Police are investigating a burglary at the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Dry Mill Road, where someone broke in sometime between March 15 and March 20.
Officers were called to the church on Friday, March 20. When they arrived, they found a broken window — the point of entry — and confirmed that items had been taken. Police have not yet said what was stolen or how much is missing.
The church sits in a part of Leesburg that still carries some of that quieter, older character — tucked just far enough away from the busiest corridors. Incidents like this are a reminder that even those spaces aren’t immune to the kinds of disruptions that have become more common as the county grows and changes.
Right now, investigators are still working to piece together what happened during that five-day window. Anyone who may have seen something unusual in the area during that time is being asked to come forward.
