A Fairfax County Police Department sergeant was arrested on the evening of November 1 by the Leesburg Police Department on a charge of being drunk in public. The individual, identified as Sergeant Brett Choyce, 43, of Hamilton, was off-duty at the time of the incident.
Sergeant Choyce is a 23-year veteran of the Fairfax County Police Department. Following the arrest, he has been placed on administrative leave while an Internal Affairs Bureau investigation is underway.
The Leesburg Police Department handled the arrest. No mugshot has been released at this time.
