Downtown Leesburg just got a little more convenient for visitors. A brand-new parking guidance system has been installed in the Town Hall parking garage, designed to help drivers quickly find open spaces.
Developed by ParkLogix, the technology uses sensors embedded in rubber mats to monitor space availability on each level of the garage. This cloud-based system sends live updates to digital signs located at the garage entrances on Market and Loudoun Streets, as well as on each parking level. These signs refresh every few seconds, giving drivers up-to-date information on available spaces.
The 34-year-old garage was retrofitted with this system, proving a cost-effective way to modernize without major construction. Town officials say they hope to expand the system’s capabilities in the future, allowing visitors to check garage occupancy through the Town’s website or even a mobile app.
This upgrade is expected to make navigating downtown Leesburg more seamless, especially during busy weekends or events when parking can be a challenge.
