A 29-year-old Leesburg man has been arrested following an investigation into a shooting incident earlier this month in which several rounds were reportedly fired into an unoccupied vehicle.
The Leesburg Police Department announced that Trevon M. Taylor, 29, of Leesburg, was arrested on October 28, 2026, and charged with discharging a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school, felony property damage, and reckless handling of a firearm.
The incident occurred during the early morning hours of October 17 in the 500 block of East Market Street.
According to police, Taylor contacted law enforcement at approximately 9:30 a.m. that day to report that multiple individuals had physically assaulted him during an altercation between 3 and 5 a.m. Taylor initially told investigators that he had fired a gun in self-defense during the confrontation.
However, detectives determined that Taylor had left the area following the altercation before returning to the parking lot a short time later. Investigators allege that he then fired several rounds into an unoccupied vehicle.
The damaged vehicle was not at the scene when officers initially responded. On October 19, the vehicle’s driver contacted police and reported that it had been moved to another location. Detectives subsequently located and processed the vehicle as part of their investigation.
Police reported no injuries associated with the gunfire.
Following his arrest on October 28, Taylor was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.
The charges are allegations, and Taylor is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
