Leesburg Man Charged in Sycolin Road Arson Case

The Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Fire Marshal’s Office (LCFR FMO) has announced an arrest in connection with an incendiary fire that occurred in February on Sycolin Road SE in Leesburg.

On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, Francisco Juarez, a resident of Leesburg, was arrested and charged with multiple felonies, including one count of burning or destroying a building or structure, one count of entering a dwelling with intent to commit arson, and one count of conspiring to commit a felony. Juarez is currently being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

The incident took place at approximately 7:30 p.m. on February 19, 2024, when the Loudoun County Emergency Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call reporting a structure fire on Sycolin Road. Firefighters arrived promptly and extinguished a small fire within a vacant building. Fortunately, the fire did not spread to any other structures, and there were no injuries reported among civilians or first responders.

After a thorough investigation, the LCFR FMO determined that the fire was intentionally set, leading to the identification and subsequent arrest of Juarez.
