LEESBURG, VA — Leesburg police are investigating a Friday night shooting that left a man wounded on Fort Evans Road NE.
Officers were called to the 0 block of Fort Evans Road NE at about 10 p.m. for a report of a shooting, according to the Leesburg Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment and was listed in stable condition.
Police have not released details about what led to the shooting or whether investigators have identified a suspect.
The shooting occurred along the busy Fort Evans Road corridor in northeastern Leesburg, an area lined with shopping centers, businesses and residential communities.
The investigation remains active, and police said additional information will be released when appropriate.
