LEESBURG, VA (October 23, 2026) – One of Leesburg’s longest-running traditions returns Wednesday, October 28, as the town celebrates the 70th annual Leesburg Kiwanis Halloween Parade. Residents and motorists should expect road closures and traffic delays in downtown Leesburg during the evening.
The parade, organized by the Leesburg Kiwanis Club, begins at 6:30 p.m. at Ida Lee Drive and travels south along King Street to Fairfax Street.
To accommodate the event, King Street will close between Battlefield Parkway and Catoctin Circle beginning at 5:45 p.m. No vehicles will be permitted to cross King Street during the parade.
The road will reopen after town Public Works crews finish cleaning up along the parade route. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes and follow posted detours.
Parking at the Ida Lee Park field will be reserved exclusively for parade participants.
The Kiwanis Club is also encouraging parade participants to bring nonperishable food donations for Loudoun Hunger Relief. Donations will be collected during participant check-in at Ida Lee Park field. A list of needed items is available at www.loudounhunger.org.
First held in 1957, the Leesburg Halloween Parade is among the oldest Halloween parades in the eastern United States. The annual event has remained a community tradition for generations of Loudoun County families.
Additional information about the parade, including registration and participation guidelines, is available on the Leesburg Kiwanis Club website.
