Leesburg Resident Faces Multiple Charges After Police Chase

Joseph DanielLoudoun County, VA (October 31, 2023) – A series of charges await a Leesburg resident following a high-speed chase involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

Joseph C. Daniel, a 44-year-old man from Leesburg, was apprehended by the Fairfax Police Department after allegedly leading officers on a chase in a stolen vehicle. The pursuit began on Monday afternoon in Ashburn and concluded in Tyson’s Corner.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) is actively investigating an initial report of abduction, with several charges related to the pursuit still pending. The vehicle driven by Daniel, identified as a 2005 black Hummer H2, had been reported stolen in Chantilly on March 16, 2023. Notably, the vehicle’s original green paint job had been altered to black.

Daniel was already wanted in Loudoun County on multiple counts, including two counts of Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Burglary Tools, Fleeing and eluding, Driving without a License, and three counts of Probation Violation.

Apart from the charges from LCSO, the Fairfax County Police Department has also charged Daniel with several offenses, including Robbery – Carjacking, Felony Disregard of Police Command to Stop, Felony Hit and run, Driving without an Operator’s License, and Reckless Driving.

Currently, Daniel is in custody at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, with no bond set. Further information regarding any additional charges by LCSO will be made public once they are formalized.
