Leesburg to Honor Martin Luther King, Jr. with Annual March and Celebration

Leesburg, VA – January 10, 2024: In a heartfelt tribute to the enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Leesburg is set to host its annual march and celebration on Monday, January 15. The event, symbolizing unity and remembrance, will commence at the historic Loudoun County Courthouse at 10 a.m.

Participants will gather on the courthouse lawn, embarking on a journey of reflection and community spirit along East Market Street, culminating at Douglass High School, located at 407 E Market Street. To facilitate this momentous event, there will be temporary road closures. East Market Street, stretching from North King Street to Catoctin Circle, will be closed starting at 9:30 a.m. to accommodate the marchers. As the event progresses, rolling street closures will be implemented along East Market Street. Authorities advise drivers to heed police directions and anticipate minor delays, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all participants.
