Residents of Leesburg are invited to attend a community document shredding event on Saturday, May 11, hosted by the Town of Leesburg’s Public Works Department. The event will take place at Heritage High School located at 520 Evergreen Mill Road, SE, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This free service allows residents to bring up to three boxes or bags of documents, each no larger than a standard file storage box, for secure shredding. Early closure is possible if shredding vehicles reach capacity, so early attendance is encouraged.
Alongside the shredding service, there will be a collection for non-perishable food items to benefit Loudoun Hunger Relief. This provides an excellent opportunity for residents to support community members in need while securely disposing of sensitive documents.
For more information about what items are acceptable for shredding and tips on protecting against identity theft, visit the event’s webpage at www.leesburgva.gov/shredevent Details about contributing to the food drive can be found at https://www.loudounhunger.org/give-help/donate-food/.
