Loudoun County Deputy Arrested for Domestic Violence Incident

rajesh-kumarLeesburg, VA – An off-duty deputy from Loudoun County has been taken into custody by the Leesburg Police Department on charges of domestic assault and hindering a family member from contacting the police.

On the evening of October 4, 2023, around 5:20 p.m., local officers from Leesburg responded to an incident on the 100 Block of Alpine Drive. The subsequent inquiry determined that Rajesh Kumar had allegedly assaulted a relative and had stopped another from reaching out to the authorities.

Following his arrest, Mr. Kumar faced charges of domestic violence, obstruction of emergency communication, and an emergency protective order was also placed. He underwent processing at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center and was later released on a secured bond. It’s worth noting that Mr. Kumar serves as a deputy for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
