Loudoun County Opens Certification Process for Affordable Housing Developers

The Loudoun County Department of Housing and Community Development has announced a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for its Rental Housing Acquisition and Preservation Loan Program (RHAP), aimed at developers.

The RHAP Program focuses on preserving affordable, multi-family rental housing in Loudoun County by providing funding for acquiring and preserving land for rental housing that is either market affordable or made affordable through rent restrictions.

The RFQ aims to create a pool of certified developers who will receive priority consideration for RHAP loans. Projects must align with county priorities to be eligible. Once approved by the Board of Supervisors, developers will retain their certification for 12 months, with pre-qualification opportunities issued annually.

The RFQ deadline is Thursday, August 1, 2024. Developers interested in certification must submit the required documentation by this date. For detailed program requirements and guidelines, visit loudoun.gov/multifamilyfinancing.
