Play, Paddle, Picnic: Bles Park’s Grand Reopening Adds Something for Everyone

Ashburn, VA – July 16, 2025 – This summer, our community gets to cheer loud and proud as Bles Park reopens with brand-new features designed for everyone.

Come join the celebration at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16 at Bles Park (44830 Bles Park Drive, Ashburn), where the Board of Supervisors, Parks, Recreation & Community Services, and Transportation & Capital Infrastructure Departments will officially cut the ribbon.

What’s New at Bles Park?

  • Big playground upgrade: A beautifully redesigned multigenerational playground with an ADA-accessible surface and inclusive elements so kids of all abilities can play alongside adults.

  • Exercise zone: A new outdoor fitness spot for everyone to stay active.

  • Six picnic pavilions: Plenty of shaded space for families and groups to relax.

  • Sports safety netting: Offering peace of mind around the ball fields.

  • Kayak/canoe launch on Broad Run: Easy water access for paddlers.

  • New and expanded parking lot: Better access with minimal impact on natural habitats.

  • Paved & natural walking paths: Great for casual strolls or nature hikes.

The park keeps its lush 132 acres, wetlands, sports fields, trails, and the beloved Eastern Loudoun Adult Day Center, while adding thoughtful improvements that enhance access without sacrificing nature.

What to Do After the Ribbon Cutting

  • Guided hike with the PRCS Trails team to the new canoe/kayak launch.

  • Self-guided story trail hike – a delightful way to wander and learn.

  • Playtime and exploration – enjoy the updated playground and amenities.

This isn’t just a renovation—it’s a recommitment to preserving what makes Loudoun special: spaces where families, friends, and nature come together. I’ve seen the county’s open spaces vanish under unchecked growth, and I know we’re only as strong as the places that hold our memories and bring us peace. Bles Park’s updates show that we can support progress and protect our character.
