Leesburg, VA (October 3, 2023) – The public is invited to a pop-up exhibit on Friday, October 6, celebrating American Archives Month.
Handmade publications from Thomas Balch Library’s collections will highlight the wide variety of materials to be found in the library’s Rust Archive collection.
Visitors will learn what archives are, can ask questions, and try their hand at tasks that an archivist might do. The opportunity to help create a community work of art with images reproduced from Thomas Balch Library collections will also be available.
In addition to the pop-up exhibit, Thomas Balch Library staff and volunteers will be on hand processing archival collections. Exhibits about the Donaldson Log Cabin’s history will also be on display.
The event will be held at the Donaldson Log Cabin (14 Loudoun St. SW) in conjunction with First Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information call 703-737-7195
