Residents Encouraged to Participate in “Keep Leesburg Beautiful” Fall Cleanup

Keep Leesburg Beautiful logoLeesburg, VA (October 12, 2023) – The Town of Leesburg’s Environmental Advisory Commission (EAC) invites Leesburg residents to participate in a “Keep Leesburg Beautiful” fall cleanup on Saturday, October 28.

The Town will provide safety vests, gloves, and trash bags, which can be picked up at the Liberty Street Parking lot at 9 a.m. on the day of the event.

Residents, community groups, and businesses are encouraged to participate in the upcoming event by conducting their own trash clean-up activity and identifying locations throughout the Town in need of litter cleanup. You can choose to work in your own neighborhood or choose a particular spot in town you think needs attention. Town staff can make suggestions for cleanup locations and help get permission from property owners (i.e., shopping centers) to work on their property. Once your cleanup activity is complete, simply send an email to trash@leesburgva.gov with the location of any trash bags and staff from the Department of Public Works can come collect it.

While registration is not required, it will help staff to anticipate the number of people that will be participating. Groups and individuals interested in participating can visit the Town of Leesburg website at www.leesburgva.gov/KLB to register and for additional details.
