Loudoun County will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the new General District Courthouse at the Loudoun County Courts Complex on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. The event will take place at 2 Church Street NE, in Leesburg, in front of the new courthouse. Members of the Board of Supervisors, Leesburg Town Council, and Loudoun County judges and Constitutional Officers will be on hand for the ceremony.
Church Street will be closed for the ribbon cutting between East Market Street and Cornwall Street from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Church Street will reopen following the event.
Parking
Free parking will be available at the Pennington Lot and Garage, which is located at 210 Church Street NE, in Leesburg. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held approximately 3 blocks away from the parking lot and garage. Additional accessible parking will be available in the Semones Parking Lot, which is located at the intersection of North Street NE and Cornwall Street NE.
New Courthouse Opening
Loudoun’s new General District Courthouse is scheduled to open to the public on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. The new building will serve the General District Court, Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney, and the Loudoun County Department of Community Corrections.
The existing Loudoun County Courthouse is located at 18 E. Market Street, in Leesburg, will continue to serve the Circuit Court, Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court and the Juvenile Court Service Unit.
