The Town of Leesburg is working with the Local Energy Alliance Program, known as LEAP, through its membership in the Northern Virginia Regional Commission. The goal is to help residents understand whether solar makes sense for their homes without having to sort through the process alone.
The effort is part of Solarize Virginia, a program that has helped homeowners across the state explore solar energy since 2014. The program connects residents with education, pre-screened installers, and competitive pricing.
This year, the program is putting more focus on financing. That comes as federal incentives change and families look more closely at long-term energy costs. For many Leesburg households, solar is becoming less of a far-off idea and more of a practical question: will it work for my home, and what will it cost?
“There is so much information about solar that it can feel overwhelming,” said Sustainability Manager Deb Moran. “With incentives changing and financing options evolving, this program brings everything together to help residents determine what type of solar solution may be right for them.”
LEAP will offer webinars, community events, and one-on-one consultations. Residents can get a personalized solar assessment, an installation quote, and help understanding incentives and rebate programs.
The campaign runs through July 15. Residents can sign up for free, no-obligation support at www.solarizeva.org.
