Swearing-In Ceremony Welcomes Leesburg’s 2024 Leadership

In a ceremonial gathering at Ida Lee Park Recreation Center, Leesburg officially welcomed its 2024 leadership team. Mayor Kelly Burk and several Town Council members took their oaths of office Thursday evening, marking the start of their upcoming terms.

Mayor Burk, embarking on her fifth two-year term, was sworn in alongside Council Members Zach Cummings and Kari Nacy, who return for their second four-year terms. Newcomer Nicholas Krukowski took the oath for his first four-year term on the Council. The ceremonies were officiated by Clerk of the Circuit Court Gary Clemens and Judge Thomas D. Horne.

The new terms officially begin on January 1, 2025. Mayor Burk and the Council Members will join Vice Mayor Neil Steinberg, Council Member Todd Cimino-Johnson, and Council Member Patrick Wilt to steer Leesburg’s governance in the coming year.

The Council’s first business meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
