On June 24, the ribbon was officially cut for Casa De Avila Tacos, at 2C Loudoun Street SW in downtown Leesburg. Mayor Kelly Burk and the town council were on hand to welcome U.S. Army veteran Abraham Avila and his wife Stephanie—a registered nurse—to the neighborhood.
These two grew their operation from home kitchens during the pandemic into a commercial incubator at ChefScape, learning what it takes to serve the community . Abraham calls it “a great school”—and “very forgiving” .
Their menu is a love letter to their roots in Guadalajara and El Salvador, with birria, carnitas, carne asada tacos, tortas, sopes, quesadillas and more. The Burn got an early taste earlier this month and couldn’t stop talking about the birria quesatacos and even the humble salsa—just that good
Abraham put it best: “This has really been a dream come true for us. Because of folks in Loudoun County, we get to live our dream.” And when asked why Leesburg, he didn’t hesitate: “It had to be here. … What we offer is our heart, our soul… now we get to share with Loudoun County and Leesburg.”
What to Expect:
-
A bright new taco spot with seating for about 76 and a full bar in the former Trungo’s space
-
Homemade-style tacos, house chips, salsa, guac—and yes, margaritas.
-
The menu will grow as they settle in, expanding beyond their initial offerings.
Why It Matters:
Abraham and Stephanie’s journey mirrors the evolution of Loudoun itself—a place where rural roots and family traditions meet the pressures and promise of rapid growth. Their restaurant keeps those traditions alive in the heart of Leesburg.
