In Leesburg, Virginia, the community came together to celebrate the opening of a new Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) store, marking a significant addition to the Compass Creek shopping area. This event, held on March 19, 2024, featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the launch of the 2,000 square-foot retail space, which is now home to over 900 different products, catering to the diverse tastes and preferences of Leesburg residents.
Located at 555 Compass Point Plaza SE, this store is the third ABC location in the Leesburg area, joining the ranks as the 401st outlet across the state. The expansion of Virginia ABC stores is part of a broader strategy to enhance accessibility and convenience for customers, reflecting a positive trend in Virginia’s retail landscape.
Tom Kirby, the interim CEO of Virginia ABC, emphasized the broader implications of new stores like this one, highlighting their contribution to the state’s economy. “Revenues generated from new stores like this one help make Virginia the best place to live, work, and raise a family,” Kirby stated. Over the past five years, Virginia ABC has contributed more than $2.9 billion to the commonwealth, supporting crucial services such as education, public safety, transportation, and infrastructure.
The opening of the new Leesburg store is a testament to the collective efforts of the Virginia ABC team, as noted by District Manager Casey Usmani. From system installation to fixture setup, the project required extensive teamwork and coordination, showcasing the dedication behind the scenes to make such openings possible.
With hours of operation from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, the store aims to offer flexibility and convenience for shoppers. This development not only enhances the retail experience for local residents but also signifies the ongoing growth and adaptability of Virginia’s commercial sector.
