Water Main Break Causes Delays, Slick Roads at South King and Catoctin in Leesburg

Leesburg, VA — Town utility crews were out early this morning after an 8-inch water main gave out right at the busy South King Street and Catoctin Circle intersection.

The break caused a short water outage for some nearby customers, but the line has already been fixed, and water service is back on. According to the Town, crews are now focused on cleaning up and restoring the road.

Drivers, though, might want to steer clear of the area if they can. Traffic is slowed down, and police are directing cars through the intersection. The big concern now is black ice. Water from the break spread across the road, and with freezing temps, conditions could be slick.

Town officials are asking folks to be extra cautious and watch for signage if you’re heading that way.
