Early this morning, a distressing incident unfolded on Plaza Street in Leesburg, VA, prompting a thorough investigation by the Leesburg Police Department’s Traffic Management Unit. Around 5:30 AM, a male pedestrian was hit by a northbound vehicle near the Leesburg Public Safety Center, located at 65 Plaza Street NE. The collision occurred as the pedestrian was crossing the street in a designated crosswalk.
Fortunately, the driver involved in the incident remained at the scene and is actively cooperating with the ongoing police inquiry. The injured pedestrian, meanwhile, received prompt medical attention and is currently being treated for serious, yet non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital.
